Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Danbury Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you send a message, the information in that message is available to the operator for the purpose of reading and answering it.
Ordinary Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring information, and timestamps. Those logs are used in aggregate to maintain the service, investigate errors, and understand general page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled.
How Information Is Used
Technical and message data is used to operate the reference, answer a contact request, diagnose a problem, measure traffic, and improve the Danbury pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual profiles of readers.
Links to Public Record Portals
The pages link to Danbury and Connecticut portals, including the Town Clerk, Assessor, courts, voter services, libraries, museums, archives, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves the reference, the destination's own privacy policy governs what is submitted there. Sponsored result providers also set their own data practices.
Who May Process Technical Data
Hosting and technical vendors may process ordinary server logs to keep the service running. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The service is delivered over an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here and for as long as those purposes reasonably require. There are no Danbury Residents Directory accounts, passwords, or user profiles to maintain or expose.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from a person under 18 is not knowingly collected. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor sent information through the contact route, use the Contact page and identify the material so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Your Connecticut Privacy Rights
Depending on the circumstances, Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, Public Act 22-15, codified in CGS Chapter 743dd, ยงยง42-515 and following, may provide rights concerning personal data held by a covered business. Danbury Residents Directory keeps very little information. A request to access, correct, or delete information held by the service can be made through the Contact page; the response may consist of checking the message mailbox and available server logs.
Public records held by the City of Danbury, Connecticut agencies, Fairfield County as a geographic entity, courts, or other custodians are outside the service's control. A request to amend or remove a Town Clerk, Assessor, voter, court, vital, business, or license record must go to that custodian. A commercial opt-out does not change the source record.
Changes to This Policy
An updated version will replace the prior version on this page. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised terms. The effective privacy practice for a public portal remains the practice of that portal and its custodian.
